Music Community Engagement
A performance doesn't have to be a monologue.
Community engagement can open the experience into dialogue, giving audiences opportunities to ask questions, exchange ideas, explore the creative process, and participate beyond listening.
GaKnew Arts & Media offers several forms of community engagement that can be incorporated into a performance or booked independently to fit the needs of your project, event, or program.
Interview
Feel free to pick GaKnew's brain about Hiphop, spoken word, social work, parenting, or any other topic you'd like to hear his perspective on.
The format can work for podcasts, radio, video, classrooms, live events, and other settings where a question-and-answer conversation fits the program.
Featured Speaker
Bring a focused voice and perspective to your event or program. The presentation can center on a particular topic or theme, drawing from GaKnew's lived and professional experience to share ideas, lessons, and stories with the audience.
The format can also include time for audience questions or conversation following the presentation.
1 - Day Writing workshop
An interactive introduction to intentional writing. Participants explore approaches to message, audience, word choice, clarity, rhyme, storytelling, and balance, then experiment with those ideas through guided writing exercises.
8 - Day Writing Clinic
An extended hands-on experience where writers develop original work while learning how to evaluate and strengthen their own writing. Participants explore message, audience, language, structure, rhythm, storytelling, technique, and balance, using GaKnew's writing tools and self-evaluation methods to analyze, revise, and ultimately perform their work.
